Keep a Weather Eye

keep a weather eye leaflet 4.png

The ground, it held its weight tonight;

The callous workings of my troubles.

Shoulders restless in their beds,

Fear and loathing come home to nest.

The dawn will break a ruby sun,

Prodigal clouds and bad omens.

The mind, it aches; the soul, it dreads.

I think I’m in over my head.

But it will be alright…

If I keep a weather eye.

All the heat, pressure, and time

I dealt the Devil for my diamonds,

With good behaviour I could get a little more of mine,

And I sure could use the peace of mind.

I know what you’re thinking.

California dreamin’

While California’s burnin’.

It will be alright…

And when we finally get together,

We’ll make our own weather.

When we finally get together,

We’ll make our own weather.

When we finally get together,

We’ll make our own weather

And it will be alright.

What if a storm is coming?

What if they set the sky on fire?

What if the stars fall from the sky

And burn the spark out of your eyes?

And what if they finally do it?

I burned my years searching for a sign.

Until this all blows over,

I’ll keep a weather eye.

Call it wishful thinkin’…
